How Friends Help the Library
The Friends make it possible to expand the Blanco Library’s collection of books, media, learning resources, and other materials that regular funding cannot cover. Every membership, gift, and memorial donation directly helps keep our library thriving as a place of literacy, lifelong learning, and open access to knowledge for all.
About The Friends
The Friends of the Blanco Library is an organization dedicated to enriching the collections of the Library. In addition to books, movies, and technology in the library, The Friends also help support services like Kanopy and Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. Throughout the year, The Friends host parties, dinners, workshops, speakers, and special programs that bring people together. These events strengthen connections and give both old-timers and newcomers meaningful ways to be part of Blanco’s story.
Join The Friends & Be a Benefactor
As a member of The Friends, you’ll receive invitations to exclusive gatherings, updates on upcoming events, coupons for book sales, and plenty of opportunities to meet and mingle with fellow book lovers. Most importantly, you’ll enjoy the satisfaction of knowing your membership is helping to grow a collection of enlightening and entertaining reads for everyone in Blanco. And since The Friends are a nonprofit, all donations are tax-deductible.

The Blanco Library depends on its wonderful volunteers to keep the library operating. Duties include checking out books to patrons, keeping the shelves organized and clean, putting covers on newly-arrived books, keeping the catalog up-to-date, teaming up to host events, and so much more.
